Question by ~*Bella*~: Any “home remedies” for really bad heartburn?
I rarely ever get heartburn but I have it really bad tonight and can’t go to sleep. It goes all the way from my lower ribcage up to the top of my throat and is the worst heartburn I’ve ever had in my entire life. (Salsa was the culprit)….what can I do to get rid of it? I don’t have any antacid medicine or pepto bismol or anything and don’t want to go to the store. Any home remedies that’ll do the trick?

Aye drink some cold milk, that should help you out! – these people are lying that say milk dosent work. it does. trust me. it makes all the acid in your stomache curdle. and stops it flying about. dont drink vinigar or etc because you will cry

i got one, some people say its to gross to try. but it works. drink like a spoon full of vinegar. yea yea i know vinegar is stinky an gross. but it will help. i forget why, has something to do with balancing the PH in your stomach, and the stomach acids. but try it.

If you happen to have buttermilk which I doubt then drink that. It was suggested to my grandpa for his heartburn and worked.

arm and hammer baking soda and water is an old school anti-acid. i think 2 tablespoons to a cup of water or so… it’s on the side of the box.
also, soda/saltine crackers may help

Drink a lot of water and stay upright. Do not go to sleep for at least 4 hours after your last meal. If your still in pain at that time, then (if possible) put 4 inch blocks under the front of your bed. If not possible, then use multiple pillows to prop yourself up.
More food is the last thing you want to do. Your stomach needs to empty the contents. The burning sensation is an indication that your esphogas got stomach acid on it.

DON’T drink milk, the lactic acid will only make your problem worse. The baking soda mentioned earlier will do the trick. You need to neutralize the acids that are causing the burning and baking soda is a great neutralizer.

Although it seems contradictory, it works. Take a teaspoon or two of apple cider vinegar (NO OTHER KIND) in a glass of water. It is best if the apple cider vinegar is organic with the “mother”.
